  Getting Started

At Cheekyoffer we provide you with a unique way of buying and selling items or services online.  We operate in a way which allows a fair and even field for both buyers and sellers, we give no preference when it comes to solving disputes, and we strive to ensure top customer satisfaction.  With Cheekyoffer you have three options in which to sell your item.  You have the unique Cheekyoffer system, you have the Buy-it-Now option and we also have the well known Auction format.

We at Cheekyoffer believe that you should be able to make as many offers, and buy as much as you want to, however we do warn you to keep an eye on your purchases as they do add up, and if you are unable to make payments to sellers, you could find yourself with an infraction.
So at Cheekyoffer you are permitted to make as many offers on as many items as you would like, whenever you would like.  But remember you only get 5 free Cheekyoffers in any one 24 hours, so if you want to place more then you will have to purchase more via the Cheeky Credit Package Page here

There are no restrictions on how many listings you have or how many categories you list in

Selling with the Cheekyoffer Method:

If you are looking to sell an item with our unique way of selling, then the things you will have to be aware of and decide are:  ** Please note when placing your item's shipping cost in, it will automatically be placed in UK Sterling, so please just place the numerical figure in from whichever currency you have converted it from! **

  1. The first thing you will have to do is decide what price you want to achieve for your item or service. This is going to be your Hidden Reserve Price [HRP], this is the price that when a buyer makes a Cheekyoffer, and they are on or above your HRP then they will successfully purchase your item.
  2. The second thing you must do, is post what the actual Recommended Retail Price [RRP] is, this will be shown to the buyer and will make a guideline as to what price the item usually retails at.
  3. You must then write a description about your product.  You must not lie or break any of the Listing Guidelines, more information on this can be found in Policies section.
  4. You will also have to place on your listing, what payments you will accept, and which types of postage & packaging you offer.
  5. A buyer will then place Cheekyoffers on your item.  An example would be:

You place a pair of your shoes on the Cheekyoffer site. You place a £30 HRP on them, (as this is the price you are requiring for them) you also place an RRP that is visible to the consumer of £75.
The consumer then places a Cheekyoffer of £25 on the item. As this is below your hidden reserve, they will receive 1 of 3 instant emails depending on how far away from your HRP they are, an example would be, that was a Cheekyoffer, you have not won this item, please try again
The buyer will then place another Cheekyoffer on your pair of shoes, this could be £30 or even £50, as either Cheekyoffer is above your HRP, you have sold your pair of shoes for that price, no waiting around.

  • Congratulations, you have sold your shoes, now you await payment, and then send the buyer their shoes.
  • Please Note: when you list your item, you are committed to selling this item, and after someone has successfully bought your item, you may not refuse this sale.  You can however reserve the right to withdraw the item from the site as long as it has not been sold.

Buying with the Cheekyoffer method:

If you are looking to buy an item, the first thing you should do, is enter a phrase or the item you\'re looking for in the search bar at the top of the page.  This will then bring up a list of items that are for sale.
If this search has proved to be too broad, and you cannot find an item you are looking for, click advanced search, and this will bring up more options for searching, also you could try narrowing down your search, e.g. if you are looking for a pair of shoes, and you type in shoes, then you will get every variety there is, but if you search for Joe Boggs High Heeled Evening Shoes, then this will bring you a very specific item up, and what you are looking for.

  1. Once you have found the item you are looking for then you can then begin your process of making Cheekyoffers for that item.
  2. When you are buying an item, you will see the RRP; this is the price that the item cost originally, or its current market price. This will give you a guideline as to where to start with you're Cheekyoffers.
  3. On Cheekyoffer because sellers place a hidden reserve price [HRP] ideally the item that is for sale will be cheaper than the RRP, so you should start by making Cheekyoffers below the RRP, depending on the seller, the HRP will change.  Remember you do not know how much they are looking for; it could be £1 or £100, so make your Cheekyoffers wisely, as you only have 5 Cheekyoffers per item every 24 hours.  Unless you purchase more Cheekyoffers to use.
  4. If you have successfully offered an amount on or over their HRP, then you must use whichever payment method the seller accepts to purchase that item or service.
  • Please Note: if you have made a Cheekyoffer on an item or service, and it has been accepted, you are committed to buying the item as you have entered into a binding contract.

Selling with the Buy-It-Now method:

Selling with the Buy-it-Now method is a method which most sellers who are selling services find useful.  Some may not want to sell their item or service on at a discounted price. ** Please note when placing your item's shipping cost in, it will automatically be placed in UK Sterling, so please just place the numerical figure in from whichever currency you have converted it from! **

  1. The first thing you will have to do is decide what the sale price is to be, once you have done this then you must place this as your Buy-it-Now price.  This will be the actual price your item sells for! People cannot bid over this, or place a Cheekyoffer under it. Remember this is not a reserve price.
  2. Once you have decided on the price of your item, you must then enter a description, and upload your photos of the item.  Make your description stand out, but you must not use anything outside of the rules and guidelines found on the Policies page.
  3. You will need to place also when listing your item, if offered, how much postage and packaging costs.  To find this out you can visit your local post office to see the weight/cost ratio.  You must clearly and accurately show this when you are listing your item.
  4. A buyer will then come along and hopefully buy your item, there and then via the Buy-it-Now process.

When you engage in a Buy-it-Now situation, and you commit to buying that item or service, then you are automatically entered into a binding contract, which if is broken you will receive a infraction on your account.  Ways of breaking such an agreement would be by not posting the item that you have sold.

Buying with the Buy-it-Now Method:

The Buy-it-Now method is commonly used for services on Cheekyoffer, this allows for the item to be sold and bought at a set price and there is no room for a different sale price.  A seller will place the price that they want for the item, and if you want it, you can just buy it there and then.

  1. The first thing you must do is find the item or service you are looking for, remember, this method will be more common within services, so be specific, do not be too broad with your search, enter keywords that will help you find what you are looking for.
  2. When you have found what you are looking for, make sure that it is real and that it is not someone trying to scam you, unfortunately this may happen in today's online world.  Make sure you feel you can trust the seller, reviewing their feedback may give you a decent idea of how trustable they are.
  3. With the Buy-it-now method, when you search for an item, it will come up with the correct price that the item is currently being sold advertised at, then you can select buy it now, and it will automatically commit you to buying the product then you can use whichever payment methods they prefer.

Selling and Buying with the classic Auction method

** Please note when placing your item's shipping cost in, it will automatically be placed in UK Sterling, so please just place the numerical figure in from whichever currency you have converted it from! **

  1. The seller lists one or more items and sets a starting price.
  2. Buyers visit the listing and bid on the item during its auction duration.
  3. When the listing ends, the highest bidder or bidders made buy the items from the seller for the highest bid made.
  • Please note: Every time you buy an item, you are entered into a binding contract.  For more information on this contract please view our policies section.

Re-listing:

As we at Cheekyoffer believe that you shouldn't have to pay through the roof to re-list your items, so we have set the re-list fee as zero. We have an Auto re-list so you don't need to worry about returning to monitor your listings.
